“The first day I walked into Stuart Moore, I knew this was a store I would frequent. For years, I would simply stop in for inspiration from their impeccable designs, craftsmanship and ingenuity. I knew this was where I was going to buy the engagement ring when the time came. Prior to this, we discovered a unique stainless steel ring to surprise my girlfriend, now wife, for her birthday. She receives endless compliments.
The moment had come to purchase the engagement ring. After a brief consultation, a friend of mine and I went to select the loose diamond and the service was first class. “Ours is a stuart moore story four years in the making. We start in London where i proposed to my (now) wife one sunny morning in Kensington Gardens.
Since my wife has a designer’s flare and an eye for detail i wanted us to select an engagement ring together. As a temporary substitute i proposed to her with chocolate ice cream. It did the trick – she accepted – and together we embarked on a search for the perfect engagement ring.
The week following the proposal we headed off to new york to visit some U.S.based friends. We stumbled upon the stuart moore shop and were struck by the quality and variety of jewelery on display. My wife quickly fixed her eye on a stunning stuart moore “petite abamurus” ring.
Since we were due to head back to London we did not have time to pursue our interest any further, but it would later become clear to us that ‘that’ ring was the standard by which all others would be measured.
After a few years of searching we had still not found any engagement ring which came close to ensnaring my wife. In that time we also returned to New York a couple of times and made sure we called in at stuart moore, just to check that the ring lived up to our memories – it did! The only thing that changed with each visit was our preference for diamond shape.
It took us some time to check and re-check that we had found the best engagement ring in the world, but in 2008, four years after proposing we knew that the stuart moore ring was the one. We also decided to get the matching wedding band.
At this point the practicalities of buying a ring and a diamond in New York while based in London came into play. We did our research, decided on the approximate size, cut, clarity and colour. We needed to ensure that stuart moore could get us a range of diamonds which closely match our criteria. After all, if we flew to New York and did not like any of the diamonds on offer, we couldn’t just pop back the following week to view a new set. We wanted to have the confidence to just turn up, safe in the knowledge that there would be an excellent selection and that we would be taken care of.
We were not disappointed. After a few weeks of very helpful emails from the stuart moore team which answered all of our questions and addressed all of our concerns, we set a date to fly over. The diamonds stuart moore had ordered in were all perfect – in fact it took some time to choose between them. We probably took longer to decide than we were supposed to but at all times we were made to feel like we were the most important people in the store.
We received the completed rings a few weeks later, they had been finished and shipped specifically to get to us before christmas. We absolutely love the rings and enjoyed every moment of our stuart moore experience.”

“My husband and I purchased our wedding bands from stuart moore for our may 2008 wedding.
Typically, it’s more common to hear that the bride-to-be is much more particular with her wedding band than the groom-to-be. Not the case with my husband and i. After searching high and low for wedding bands for him all over the State of Maryland (where we currently reside), he wasn’t nearly satisfied with anything. On a recent trip to my old ‘stomping grounds’ of Soho, he decided to stop in to stuart moore to see what awaited.
Needless to say, what I thought would be a quick trip in turned out to be three hours of fun! We were greeted by Pamela, an exceptional sales person who was honest, extremely helpful, and made us laugh hysterically. We were in the right spot!
Jamie found several platinum bands that he really liked, not just from a design perspective, but from a comfort perspective, too. He played around with the idea of adding small diamonds to the band that he liked, and Pamela was quick to offer prototype designs in silver, complete with several diamond placements. Jamie was thrilled!
Meanwhile, I had found a band in Maryland that I was quite content with; it was just a matter of purchasing it. Jamie said to me, “babe, why don’t you look at the women’s bands and see if you like anything.” I thought, “no, that’s fine, I think I found the band that I’m happy with.” after him suggesting it again (2-3 more times, actually), I headed over to the women’s band section. Needless to say, i found a three row diamond band with additional side set diamonds and fell in love. Pamela brought the ring to me and she said, “I see where you’re headed, you want the bling.” being in denial, I just had to agree. This ring was gorgeous.
Generally speaking, we’re very simple people. But I’m fortunate to have a husband that overlooks price tags for once-in-a-lifetime items in order to put a big, fat, consistent smile on my face. I made my decision in all of ten seconds….this was my wedding band.
Pamela worked so graciously with us and we had a ball during our time with her. As we sat down to finalize the purchase, she blessed us with hot cider with rum, a perfect celebratory treat, and particularly on this cold winter day! The last detail to be finalized was to have the inside of our wedding bands engraved. I sent Pamela a mockup of the font that we wanted to use; having worked in the silver jewelery business previously, I knew the importance of finding a really stellar engraver because it tended to be a ‘hit or miss’ production! Needless to say, the engraving turned out exactly as we wanted, and a couple of weeks later, Pamela fedex’d our wedding bands to us. They were far greater than any that we had laid on our eyes on.
Overall, stuart moore is not the least expensive on the market. But the 5 star quality, impeccable workmanship, design detail, extreme comfort, and servicing by an exceptional sales staff is worth far greater than the price tag. We could not be happier!!
